What’s Special About the Punta Langosta Pier?

Punta Langosta Pier is one of the three main cruise ports in Cozumel. The other two are the International Pier and Puerta Maya. Situated on the western side of the island, these piers are just a short distance away from San Miguel de Cozumel – its largest city.
Punta Langosta’s port is used by a variety of ships and ferries, but the majority of cruise lines dock here, including NCL, Disney, Norwegian, Oceania, and MSC. You can expect to see between 5 and 6 cruise ships in port daily during the peak Caribbean season from November through March.
Once you step off your ship, you will be welcomed by an array of kiosks and vendors. Take a stroll around the port while admiring all that Cozumel has to offer!
Cozumel offers plenty of activities and attractions for visitors, including free museums and activities. If you plan on visiting a museum, it is best to book your reservation ahead of time.
Join a walking tour of San Miguel, or just take in the sights on your own. You can also go shopping and dine at one of many local restaurants.
When you’re ready to return to your ship, just walk down the pier and through an overpass. You will then be led into Punta Langosta Mall – a two-story complex featuring plenty of shops from renowned names like Diamond International, Del Sol, and Cariloha, as well as local merchants.
This mall features some wonderful local flairs like beads, woven items, sculptures, and ornamental pieces. You’ll find everything here, from colorful t-shirts and cover-ups to jewelry, paintings, and hammocks.
Another great advantage of this pier is that you can conveniently get a taxi right from the cruise terminal. Not only will this make your stay in Cozumel much smoother and cost-effective, but it will also save you time.
If you’re looking for a day trip from the port, Rio Secreto Natural Reserve in Playa del Carmen is an ideal option. This popular excursion allows visitors to appreciate the breathtaking beauty of this natural park. However, be aware that it’s a forty-five-minute ferry ride away from Cozumel port, so please allow extra time.
