What Types Of Villas Are Available At Hotel Villa Deja Blue?
Hotel Villa Deja Blue offers a unique experience, unlike the bustling, all-inclusive resorts. This tranquil retreat provides an insider’s look into the life and culture of Cozumel. With its home-style villas, the hotel ensures that relaxation and comfort are prioritized for every guest. Each villa is equipped with all the amenities you could need, including air conditioning, a saltwater pool, internet, and even free parking. There are various types of villas to cater to different needs, from the Standard Villa, perfect for solo travelers or couples, to the Double Villa and Apartment, ideal for families.
As a computer programmer, I personally appreciate the various configurations you can rent to accommodate any size of party for your trip. We have stayed in the Standard Villa when it’s just the wife and me, and we do not want to cook. We’ve also rented the Deluxe Villa on trips when we’ve come to Cozumel to experience the many benefits of medical tourism at local hospitals like CostaMed. Sometimes, we like that configuration when we don’t want to go eat out at every meal around medical appointments.
Does Hotel Villa Deja Blue Offer Insight to Cozumel?
One of the highlights of our stays at Hotel Villa Deja Blue has been the information provided by the owners and operators of the hotel and restaurant. Silvia and Dennis add a personal touch with their friendly and attentive service and make you feel at home on every trip. Silvia is a local chef and Salsa dancer that has an insider’s view of the island, its history, its heritage, and its attractions. Dennis has been visiting the island for scuba diving trips for the past century and moved to the island to start and build the hotel. As long-term residents of the island, they can guide you through the various necessities for your stay at the villa and will help you find the services and products that you may need during your stay and for your subsequent trip back home.

No trip to Cozumel is complete without a visit to La Cocina De Silvia for breakfast, at least once, if not every day.
Located within the charming premises of Hotel Villa Deja Blue, La Cocina de Silvia is an intimate and inviting restaurant that brings the authentic flavors of Mexico to the breakfast table. Established in 2000, the restaurant is a testament to over two decades of culinary experience, blending traditional recipes with a modern twist to offer some of the most delectable dishes in Cozumel.
One of the aspects that sets La Cocina de Silvia apart is its warm and welcoming atmosphere. It’s the kind of place where the dining experience is valued as much as the dishes themselves, turning every meal into an unforgettable event. We love to eat there and listen to the locals talk about their plans for the day while watching the local schoolchildren parade down the street to the nearby parks and schools.
At the heart of La Cocina de Silvia is a dedicated team who brings passion and talent to every dish they create and serve. Is There Shopping Nearby to Hotel Villa Deja Blue In Cozumel?
One of the things we appreciate about staying at Hotel Villa Deja Blue is that it is in walking distance to Mega, also known as https://www.soriana.com/, and Chedraui for purchasing supplies, groceries, clothing, pharmaceuticals, and everything else we’ve forgotten for our trip.
On many of my trips, I’ve been in heart failure and have not been able to walk long distances. But I can walk to both of these shopping experiences and rest along the way if needed.
Mega and Chedraui are two of the largest supermarket chains in Mexico. They have a wide array of products, including groceries, clothing, electronics, and household goods, similar to what you would find in a large supermarket or department store in the U.S. or Europe.
Soriana, which took over Mega supermarkets, operates under different formats, including Soriana Super, Soriana Híper, and Soriana Mercado, catering to different market segments and needs. Their stores typically offer a wide variety of products ranging from fresh produce, meats, bakery items, and dairy products to clothing, electronics, and household items. Soriana, which is also known as Mega, is located about 0.4 miles from Hotel Villa Deja Blue.
Chedraui is another major supermarket chain in Mexico that operates similarly to Soriana, with a broad selection of products. Both stores are known for their competitive prices and are popular places for both locals and tourists to shop for groceries and other goods. Chedraui is located a couple of blocks away from Hotel Villa Deja Blue.
For specific information about the product offerings, store hours, and services at the Soriana and Chedraui stores in Cozumel, I would recommend checking their official websites or contacting them directly, or asking Dennis during your stay at Hotel Villa Deja Blue.
Is Hotel Villa Deja Blue Located Close to the Beaches In Cozumel?
While there are a couple of beaches located within walking distance of Hotel Villa Deja Blue, most are easily reached by taxi or with your rented car, bicycle, or scooter.
Playa Palancar is one such beach, a tranquil and unspoiled stretch of sand located on the island’s western side. Known for its calm, shallow waters, it’s an ideal spot for families with children or those who wish to relax with a good book while enjoying the gentle sound of the waves. There are beachfront restaurants and bars available, ensuring visitors can comfortably spend the whole day there.
Paradise Beach, another popular destination, lives up to its name with its postcard-worthy scenery. In addition to swimming and sunbathing, this beach offers fun water activities like snorkeling and paddleboarding. The beach has excellent facilities, including a pool, restaurants, and a bar, making it a perfect place for a full-day outing.
On the other hand, Punta Sur Eco Beach Park stands out for its natural beauty and the diverse array of wildlife that calls it home. Here, you can explore the ecological reserve, climb the lighthouse for panoramic views, or simply relax on the beach and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.
For those who are into snorkeling and diving, Dzul Ha, now known as Money Bar Beach, is a must-visit. Its clear waters are teeming with vibrant marine life, including colorful fish, sea turtles, and fascinating coral formations.
Whenever we stay at Hotel Villa Deja Blue, we always check with Dennis to see which beaches are experiencing the best conditions, are least crowded, or offer any special amenities we are looking for on that specific day. And Dennis can help you get a Taxi for the trip if the beach is not within walking distance.
Can Hotel Villa Deja Blue Help Bicyclists on Cozumel?
On several of my trips to Cozumel, we have either rented bicycles or brought our own for traveling around the island. I’ve logged close to 400 miles of riding on the island, which isn’t enough, but it is enough to know the island quite well.
Hotel Villa Deja Blue has a bicycle rack inside the security fence where you can secure your bicycle in between trips, and Dennis can fill you in on any special road conditions that exist during your stay.
Cozumel is known not only for its pristine beaches, turquoise waters, and rich cultural heritage, but it is also celebrated as a host city for the IRONMAN triathlon event. Each year, athletes from around the globe descend upon this tropical paradise to compete in the IRONMAN Cozumel, a grueling event that includes swimming, cycling, and running. The 2023 IRONMAN Cozumel is set to take place on November 19th. This event also serves as a qualifying event for the 2024 VinFast IRONMAN World Championship, adding to the excitement and competitive spirit of the race.
The IRONMAN Cozumel is a late-season destination race that offers athletes an opportunity to compete in a picturesque and vibrant setting. The area boasts over 14 miles of reefs for exploring, archeological ruins, a national park, and of course, expansive stretches of white sandy beaches and turquoise waters. This backdrop provides a unique and thrilling experience for both participants and spectators. The race is indeed challenging, but the beauty and ambiance of Cozumel make the experience one-of-a-kind.
Many of the participants for these races have stayed at Hotel Villa Deja Blue because of its convenient location for the races. The hotel has also been an excellent base for my active excursions. The island of Cozumel is a haven for cyclists, with its stunning landscape and well-maintained roads. After a day of exploring the island on two wheels, coming back to the comfort of my villa at Hotel Deja Blue was always a pleasure.
Is Hotel Villa Deja Blue Convenient to Hospitals on Cozumel?
Unfortunately, I’ve reached that age where the wheels are coming off the bus, and I require frequent maintenance and repair. I have learned about the medical facilities and staff of Cozumel and have experienced it firsthand.
My haven for these trips to Cozumel was Hotel Villa Deja Blue. The tranquil environment of the hotel was the perfect setting to recover from my cardiology exams. The proximity of the hotel to the healthcare facilities like Costamed was an added advantage, making it a perfect base for anyone traveling for medical purposes.
No trip to Costamed is complete without a follow visit to Casa Mission, where we can enjoy an inexpensive lunch while discussing the various medical treatments and diagnoses from the appointment of the day.
We usually follow that with a trip to COZ Coffee to unwind before we return to the hotel so I can rest.
While there is no medical evidence or scientific evidence to support my claim that a stay at Hotel Villa Deja Blue and Cozumel have helped my slow but steady recovery from my heart ailment, I will still make a claim anecdotally. And relaxing has to help.
Is Hotel Villa Deja Blue a Secret Haven In Cozumel?
Of course. I’m probably ruining my future trips to Cozumel by letting all of you know how much we enjoy our stays at Hotel Villa Deja Blue.
The romantic ambiance of the hotel has not been lost on my wife and me. Our stays there have been filled with moments of relaxation and reconnection. Whether it was gently swaying in the water in the pool, watching the hummingbirds feed in the feeder under the sun, or exploring the beautiful beaches of Cozumel, the hotel provided the perfect backdrop for our romantic getaway.
We’ve also enjoyed family trips to Cozumel. The spacious villas of Hotel Deja Blue were perfect for our family. We made use of the full kitchen facilities and enjoyed the many beaches and attractions of Cozumel, making unforgettable family memories.
Hotel Villa Deja Blue truly lives up to its promise – it makes your vacation in Cozumel one that you will always treasure and remember. Whether you’re visiting for medical tourism, sporting activities, a romantic getaway, or a family vacation, this hotel is a wonderful choice. It offers not just a place to stay but a home away from home.
